German business wants to continue working in Ukraine

Executive Director of the Committee on Eastern Europe Economic Relations Rainer Lindner said this in Berlin on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports from Germany.

"German businessmen want to stay and work in Ukraine. This desire was expressed by 97% of entrepreneurs," Lindner said.

However, he said, until the year-end they will have to assess the risks and make a decision whether to stay or leave the market. In 2014, German exports to Ukraine decreased by 33%, while it fell by 30% during the first four months of this year, informed the Executive Director of the Committee on Eastern Europe Economic Relations.

In recent months, he said, several meetings have been held between Ukrainian leaders and partners. The parties have discussed what guarantees may be given by the Ukrainian Government to German businessmen, and investors.

Lindner has also told that a big conference of German and Ukrainian businessmen and politicians, earlier scheduled for July, has been postponed till autumn, most likely till October.
