Ukraine-EU FTA to come into force from January 1

The agreement on free trade area between the EU and Ukraine should enter into force on January 1, 2016.

"This decision should not be changed, and it was recognized by all parties during the tripartite meeting [EU, Ukraine, Russia] at the ministerial level," the press service of the European Foreign Service responded to the request of Deutsche Welle.

The next talks on this issue among the European Union, Ukraine and Russia at the ministerial level are scheduled for September 7 in Brussels. Meanwhile, the experts of each party of negotiations conduct technical meetings.

The recent expert meetings were held in June and July. The experts discussed technical, sanitary and phytosanitary standards, as well as customs cooperation.
